Brookfield, Ohio. Slope Congregational Church. Records, 1866-1999 (bulk, 1870-1960).
The Slope Church was organized in 1866 and was chartered in 1869. The first meetings were held in private homes. It was first known at the Welsh Congregational Church and their earliest records are in the Welsh language. The Congregation disbanded in 1999 after over a decade of debate. Reasons for disbanding included advancing age of congregants and low membership numbers.
Scope and Content
The majority of the collection consists of some ledger books containing meeting minutes and financial accounts and the Sunday school records. The earliest meeting minutes are in the second box for size reasons only.
