This collection contains sermons and papers of D. M. Fisk, a Congregational minister working primarily in the Midwest and Plains states during the second half of the nineteenth-century.

Biographical History

Daniel Moses Fisk was born in in New Hampton, N.H. on April 10, 1846. He was educated at Brown University and Harvard Medical School before becoming an ordained minister in Jackson, Michigan in 1886. His Congregational pastorates included: Jackson, Michigan 1886-1891; First Church, Toledo, Ohio, 1891-1896; Compton Hill Church, St. Louis, Missouri, 1897-1899; and First Church, Topeka, Kansas, 1899-1902. He was also a professor, dean, and professor emeritus 1899-1932 at Washburn College in Kansas. He died in Topeka, Kansas on September 30, 1932.
